2008 Loyalhanna Review Guidelines

While manuscripts with some regional connection are preferred, inspired, thought-provoking writing in any genre will be considered.   Manuscripts must be previously unpublished, typed, double spaced (except poetry), minimum 12 point type, in Times New Roman or Arial font, and mailed flat in a large manila envelope.  Send two hard copies of each entry, one with your name and one with no identification, to

Greensburg, PA 15601

Include a cover letter with your name, address, phone number, email address, titles of your works with word counts, an author bio of thirty words or less, and a statement of permission to publish as indicated below.

"I grant the Loyalhanna Review permission to publish [insert your title here without the brackets] in the 2008 print and online editions only.  I retain all other copyrights."

An entry consists of one prose piece (maximum 1500 words) or three poems.  Prose entries are limited to one per year.  Poetry entries are limited to three poems per year.

Entries must be received by June 30, 2008. If you wish acknowledgment of the receipt of your entry, include a self-addressed, stamped POST CARD.

All entries MUST be available electronically prepared in .rtf (Rich Text Format) format if they advance in the judging process.  Wordpad, Notepad, Open Office, WordPerfect and M$ Word can all be told to "Save As" .rtf format.  Be certain to proofread your file using Windows Wordpad.  DO NOT use First Line Indent when you write your story as it will not be formatted properly.  Use the TAB key instead.
